Special Events Ordinance
Austin Center for Events worked with community stakeholders to develop proposed administrative rules for the Special Events Ordinance adopted by City Council on May 10, 2018.
The proposed rules were adopted on February 25, 2019. The adopted special events ordinance rules can be viewed here .
The public has 30 days to appeal any adopted rule(s). An appeal is initiated by filing an appeal statement which includes name, address, telephone number, rule number being appealed and a short explanation of why this rule should be appealed. All appeals must be in writing and must be delivered to the clerk's office in person or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. To download an appeal statement form click here.
The adopted SEO rules are effective April 1, 2019
New Approved Application Submission Deadlines:
Tier 1 = 3 days from first event day
Tier 2 = 30 days from first event day
Tier 3 = 120 days from first event day
Tier 4 = 180 days from first event day
