On Aug. 9, 2018, the Austin City Council directed the City Manager to develop and propose a new process leading to a Land Development Code that achieves goals outlined in many City plans, including but not limited to the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan, the Strategic Housing Blueprint, the Watershed Protection Master Plan, and the Austin Strategic Direction 2023 Plan.
On March 15, 2019, City Manager Spencer Cronk requested policy direction from the Austin City Council. Cronk, during a March 26, 2019, work session presented a brief overview of the policy direction requested. On April 11, 2019, Council took public comment on Agenda Item No. 5 regarding the Land Development Code Revision Memo. During its April 23, 2019, work session, Council will discuss Land Development Code Revisions Policy Guidance.
Council is utilizing the Council Message Board to begin their policy discussion. To provide feedback to the City Council as they consider these policy questions, please contact your City Council Member.
