Second stop of the premier beach volleyball tournament returns to Texas
The AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, the longest running professional beach volleyball tour in the world, will make its return to Krieg Fields for The Austin Open, May 17 – 20, 2018. The four-day competition will feature America’s top professional beach volleyball athletes competing for both the title and prize money. Athletes participating include:
Phil Dalhausser, Olympic gold medalist and last year’s (2017) Austin Open men’s champion (with Nick Lucena)
April Ross, two-time Olympic medalist and last year’s (2017) Austin Open women’s champion (with Whitney Pavlik)
Ross’ new partner, Alix Klineman, AVP’s 2017 Rookie of the Year
Ryan Doherty, three-time AVP champion
Texas stars Amanda Dowdy (Austin) and Irene Pollock (Fort Worth)
The 2018 Austin Open will be made up of 16 Main Draw teams for men and women - 10 auto entries, 2 wild cards, 4 qualifier teams.
