The West Allandale Water Improvement Project is part of Renewing Austin, an Austin Water program to replace and upgrade aging water lines. The pipes running below our streets carry the very lifeblood of our community, but aging water infrastructure can be a major problem. Austin Water is protecting our city's water infrastructure by investing in upgrades and repairs of the existing water lines, as part of the Renewing Austin program.
The West Allandale Water Improvements Project will replace about 7,900 feet of water lines and 6,400 feet of wastewater lines. Water line breaks are well documented in this area and the project is necessary to avoid further expenditures to maintain water lines that have broken frequently. The project also includes replacement of the water line on Trailridge Drive to address low pressure issues.
Austin Water partners with the Public Works Department whose project management staff supervises construction.
